Questions about custom Desk Mats
How do I design my own Desk Mat?
Open the designer, choose your Desk Mat option, upload a photo or artwork, adjust the layout, and preview the exact print before you order.
What's the best image size for a custom Desk Mat?
PNG or JPG at roughly 300 DPI for the print area gives the sharpest result. The designer shows a live preview so you can check sharpness before ordering.
How much does a custom Desk Mat cost?
Custom Desk Mats start at the price shown in the designer before checkout, in euro, US dollars, or pounds sterling. Shipping is free to Europe, the UK, and the United States.
Is shipping free?
Yes. Shipping is free to Europe, the UK, and the United States. We use standard Economy delivery only — we do not offer Express. Checkout shows shipping as Free.
Will the print hold up over time on a Desk Mat?
Yes — the print is made for desk use, so everyday mouse movement and light spills wipe clean without peeling the design.
Do I need an account or a minimum order?
No. Design one item, preview the print, and check out as a guest. We print that item after you pay.
How long does a custom order take?
We dispatch within 24–48 hours after payment. Standard Economy delivery then typically takes 2–10 days depending on destination. We do not offer Express.
Does one file fit both sizes?
Not necessarily. Medium is 28 × 16 in (70 × 40 cm) and Large is 36 × 18 in (90 × 45 cm) — different aspect ratios. Choose the size in the designer and review the crop for that mat.
Where should I put a logo?
Keep it within the safe print area and away from positions covered by your keyboard. Try the equipment layout before deciding on placement.
What sizes are available?
Medium is 28 × 16 in (70 × 40 cm) and Large is 36 × 18 in (90 × 45 cm). Confirm the selected size in the designer; they are different crops, not the same picture scaled up.
Make the design work around your keyboard
A desk mat is seen around the equipment placed on it. Before positioning a name or illustration, mark where your keyboard, mouse, and any wrist rest normally sit. A centered logo can disappear under the keyboard even when it is safely inside the printable area.
Try a composition with interest at the visible edges and a quieter area under your equipment. Wide landscapes and flexible abstract artwork can suit this approach. A portrait can still work, but it may need a designed background rather than an aggressive crop that removes most of the subject.
A desk mat is used every day, so busy photographs can look noisy once a keyboard, mouse, and cables sit on them. If you want a calmer workspace, keep the strongest detail toward an exposed edge and let the centre stay quieter. Confirm the selected size in the designer; Medium 28 × 16 in (70 × 40 cm) and Large 36 × 18 in (90 × 45 cm) are different crops, not the same picture scaled up.
If you are matching a monitor stand or a keyboard tray, measure those objects on the desk rather than estimating from a product photo. A file prepared for 70 × 40 cm (28 × 16 in) will crop on 90 × 45 cm (36 × 18 in), and the extra width on Large is not a uniform border you can add later.
Measure the footprint and confirm the template
The listed Medium size is 28 × 16 in (70 × 40 cm); Large is 36 × 18 in (90 × 45 cm). Large adds 20 cm of width and 5 cm of depth, so check both dimensions against monitor feet, speakers, and cable openings. A paper rectangle on the desk is a useful way to test the arrangement before choosing.
These sizes have different proportions: 1.75:1 and 2:1. One finished composition will not automatically fit both without cropping or layout changes. Both sizes use a 10,866 × 5,492 pixel full-area print file; the designer shows that canvas with a size-specific safe area for the finished mat.
Our size guide helps with the footprint, while the image-size guide explains resolution and template checks.
